Stacey Stormes grew up with art. The daughter of a teacher and a photographer, she began exploring photography at the age of ten using black and white darkroom techniques. She continues to be in a constant state of making and exploring media - photography and printmaking to video, installation, and interactive media. Using her body in her work, she explores the contradictions in skin as both a protective material and a point of vulnerability. Stacey is an interdisciplinary artist, who holds a BFA in printmaking from the University of South Florida and an MFA in interdisciplinary arts and media.
